The sun just over the Windclan hills as the leader woke from the camp and came out into the forest. The orange tabby tom lowered his head as he passed by a cave. For a moment, it hit him with scents that weren't actually there, from his old apprentice days. He remembered the event that had caused him to go for the goals he had once thrown away as only measly ideals. Foxstar raised his head and flicked his burnt edges of his ears. His red glowing eyes focused on the chirping of birds around him, until a sparrow landed a few feet from him. "Goodmorrow Talon, how are things with you?" Foxstar smiled as he looked at the small bird. The bird hopped forward laughing a bit. "I didn't get eaten yesterday, I guess that counts for something doesn't it?" The sparrow said mildly, as Foxstar laughed he looked back to the cave, it was best to let little past things slide wasn't it? Though the memory burned into him like the fire that owned his own soul, as Foxstar looked away he began walking, the sparrow following him.
When he was merely an apprentice, in that very cave, he had unleashed his untrained fire powers and had caused an explosion. All in the same, it killed his family, and none the less, it had dawned on him the severity of what his power could do. Foxstar vowed to not use his power unless needed, it wasn't that he couldn't control it, it was more out of fear of his past in which he covered up by his personality that a lot of cats found uncanny. Foxstar put a smile on for his clan, to cover up his own pain, and he had gotten so good at it, it seemed it had sucked him into a reality that was simply perfect.
"Has there been anything interesting going on lately, any knew chiefs?" Foxstar asked, jumping over a fallen root. The sparrow jumped out in front of him. "Well as usual my brother was trying for it, but like every spring, he loses, seems like some girl called Taki got it, a very, well intriguing sparrow" Talon noted. Sparrows lived alone as it seemed, but in reality they were one large nation controlled by a chief. Unlike the clans, a chief only lasted a year before a new one was chosen by competitions, were it was any young sparrows game. The sparrows lived as a whole, looking after each other, when they were out looking for food it was mostly for bringing it back for their families before hunting for themselves. Getting eaten by cats was normal, and Talon knew there was a risk getting so close to one and telling him about their culture. Foxstar though was a bookworm to say in terms, and loved to have so much information on more then just cats, because he didn't exactly connect with them correctly as he did other animals he spoke to. "It seems like my clan is becoming more or less more quiet about events. Though we haven't heard from Skyclan in some time." Foxstar meowed, jumping over another connection of collected roots.
Foxstar hadn't spoken to Cresentmoon since yesterday when he had helped her collect herbs, nor had he seen her around camp. The leader had wondered about the young she-cat, it seemed like all the cats he grew up with were slowley, slipping through his paws. Ravenpaw, Cresentmoon, and Tigerstorm were the closest he got to knowing any true cats. Then he was lead to believe Ravenpaw was evil, after he had died, then somehow after his incident with his family Tigerstorm promised him, that he would help him keep his power under control. Tigerstorm was the friendliest cat, but she was the best deputy and friend a tom could ask for. Foxstar came off as the happy go lucky type, so when around camp the two didn't exactly match, but outside when alone. Foxstar felt as if he could release the pressure of the dark in which he had pressed himself up against, and so, it was what he had thought in his days, where his past came back to him, thinking about it every day-stern-it was always the same.
"I have to go, there's another cat nearby" Talon chirped before zooming off into an unknown direction. Foxstar raised his head, sniffing the air, the bird had been right. There was a cat nearby, the leader smiled and laughed shaking his head for a moment. For all the world that was worth, did one of his clan members have to sneak up on him? Unless of course it was a loner, in which Foxstar would have to go through the usual routine of asking why they were on his clan lands.
