The tabby leader walked around the boarder to make sure everything was alright. She rescented the marks and looked over at the Thunderclan Boarder. She knew one cat in that clan, Falconstrike who died a couple moons ago. She was sad to hear that he had passed away from a badger attack. Even though she was the leader's daughter, she had slept with the thunderclan cat. She sighed and prayed to starclan that she wanted to see him again. She had to give up her kits to him or her father would of made her step down from deputy and she didn't want that.[/blockquote]

Nightstar padded along the border of Windclan in deep thought. He wanted a mate and kits of his own. But none of the she-cats in his clan attracted him. Maybe he just wasn't meant to have kits? From time to time he would stop and mark the border. But as he grew closer to the moon pool stream the scent of Windclan cat hit him. The scent was familiar. He padded closer to the border to see Sunstar. "Good morning Sunstar, I guess I wasn't the only one who needed some time alone to think."He purred softly. He and Sunstar had been friends as apprentices. It was amazing that both of them had become leaders of their clan. "How is things for Windclan?"

The she-cat looked at the Thunderclan leader and tried to smile but couldn't. Things in Winclan are fine. Howabout Thunderclan? She asked. She wanted to ask about Emberpaw, Nightpaw and Falconpaw but she was afraid to. She didn't know if he knew that they were her kits since Emberpaw looked just like her, a spitting image. She just couldn't get her mind off of them. It broke her heart. When her father was dying she told him and she was surprised what his last words were to her Why didn't you tell me? We could of raised them here. she looked at the ground and then at Nightstar and sighed.

Nightstar smiled softly and brushed hist tail over Sunstar's shoulder. "Things are running good for Thunderclan. Emberpaw Nightpaw and Falconpaw are doing very good and their as fast as their mother. You should be proud of them. I can't tell you what to do but I think you should tell them who their mother is. They deserve to know. I would tell them but that's not my job. All three of them will be going to the next gathering. You can tell them than if you wish." He knew the kits where hers the day Falconstrike brought them there. The scent of Windclan was all over them.

Sunstar's eyes grew wide. I guess I have to. It's going to be hard though and what if they don't want to know me or anything? I mean I sit here just about every day waiting for them and then they might reject me. I don't want that. She said him. She was afraid to but she knew she had the courage. At the next gathering I will talk to them. She said trying not to think about the negitive things. Nightstar what am I going to do? She asked him with tears filling up in her eyes. I cant do it alone

Nightstar brushed his muzzle against hers and lifted her muzzle up an inch. "They won't reject you. They already know their not one hundred percent Thunderclan. But I told them I didn't know who their mother was. I didn't think it was my right to tell them. At the gathering we'll meet after everyone else has left. I'll let my deputy lead the others back but I'll tell your kits I found their mother and that you wanted to meet them. You can tell them than. I'll stand by your side. I promise Sunstar."

Sunstar nuzzled Nightstar and smiled at what he said. Yes, that sounds like a perfect plan she said. I feel like a part of me is missing, like being with you she said looking at him. He had made her feel confortable and in her skin. She had known him for a long time but she wanted more than to be friends. Did she really want to be mate with him? It would have to be secret but she didn't care right now, she just wanted to be with someone who cared about her.

Nightstar purred, "I'm sure they will be happy to finally know who their mother is. Your doing a brave thing. I know your scared but I'll help you through this." Once a long time ago Nightstar had fallen in love with Sunstar when she was Sunpaw but had never told her. Now his emotions for her where starting to burn again. His heart sped up. She was the mate he had always wanted. But if they mated it would have to remain a secret. And if they had kits he would never know them. That thought sent a stab of pain through his heart. Maybe they could work something out. Stepping forward he licked Sunstars muzzle. "Sunstar I...I," how was he going to tell her he fell in love with her? he had never been good with words.

The windclan leader looked at Nightstar. Yes im sure that they will be happy but what if they... She paused and was trying to think of the words. Get scared and run off? She finally said. She didn't want that to happen. When Nightstar licked her muzzle, her mind was at ease. She looked him in the eyes. Nightstar, I need you and she stopped again. Could she say it or no? She took a deep breath and then said it. I love you There it was finally out. Her feelings for him were out and it made a lot of weight come off of her shoulders.

Nightstar purred and shook his head. "If I know your kits and I do they won't be scared." But he was worried about Emberpaw he might be angry at his mother. But he didn't want to worry Sunstar. When she spoke again his eyes softened and he purred. "You stole the words right out of my mouth. Sunstar I love you to." Maybe they could work this out. Yes they could they would work this out. If they had kits half could be raised as Windclan and half as Thunderclan and they would know who their mother was. Though he would wait to tell him when he was old enough to understand. Nightstar shook his head he was getting ahead of himself. Stepping forward he rubbed his muzzle against hers.

The she-cat purred at what he said. It's a good thing you know them. She said. She then sighed, This was making her throw out all different emotions. Was that good? She took a deep breath of his scent. Oh how much she loved Nightstar's scent. She looked up at him when she herd the words she wanted to hear. This is great! She thought. She then rubbed against him when he did it to her. Then she licked his cheek.

Nightstar nodded, "Well considering I am Falconpaw's mentor I need to know him and his siblings," he laughed softly. She she licked his cheek his laugh turned to a purr. His eyes softened and if possible he stepped even closer to Sunstar. "Sunstar your the best thing to ever happen to me," Nightstar could read the signs she wanted to mate with him as much as he wanted to mate with her. He circled her a couple times and scented the air. They where completely alone with no cat to know what was about to happen. Nightstar mounted and mated with Sunstar. When done he brushed against her and licked her cheek.

When Nightstar said that he was Falconpaw's mentor, she was happy. Atleast one of them got Nightstar as a mentor. Then it happened. He mated with her. She was happy that it was him. She rolled and then got up shaking the dead grass off of her. That was wonderful She purred. She licked his cheek back in return and then looked around. Nothing, no one. Good. It was still them alone. She didn't care if anyone saw her. She just wanted to be with Nightstar.

Nightstar purred, "I want to be with you, maybe we can meet every half moon?" He wanted it to be more often but they where both leaders and the clan would notice when their leaders went missing more. it was odd for a leader to go out alone with out a patrol often. Nightstar looked up at the sky and sighed. It was almost Sun-high. His clan mates would be looking for him soon. Standing up she shook loose the grass that stuck to his pelt than took a step back so he was on his side of the territory again encase a patrol came. he didn't want them to find him on the wrong side of the border.

Sunstar looked at the ground and then at him. Sounds good to meShe said to him. Thinking to herself, She thought of what was going to be happening. More kits. She sighed and looked at the sky. It's just so beautiful she thought. She took a step backwards and nodded to him, So every halfmoon. Where shall we meet though? She asked him. This wasn't really a good spot to meet. A patrol could catch us easy she thought. She was also thinking about the upcoming gathering, she couldn't wait to see her kits and tell them who she was.
